AFS is proud to announce that a new associate editor (guest editor) joined the International Editorial Board of Annals of Forest Science for a special issue 2010.

Guofan SHAO received his Ph.D. in forest ecology from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1989, and the post-doctoral education in forest modeling from the University of Virginia, USA, between 1991 and 1993. He joined the faculty at Purdue University in 1997 and is now a Professor at the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources. He is adjunct professor of Chinese Academy of Sciences and honorary Director of Jilin Changbai Mountain Academy of Sciences, China. He serves in editorial boards of five academic journals. His research has focused on forest sustainability in China. He published over one hundred scientific papers and four books.
