AFS is proud to announce that a new associate editor (guest editor) joined the International Editorial Board of Annals of Forest Science for a special issue 2010.
Jean GARBAYE is a soil microbial ecologist working as a senior scientist at INRA (the French National Institute of Agronomy Research) in Champenoux near Nancy, in a group specialized in the interactions of microorganisms with forest trees. His main interest is in the ectomycorrhizal symbiosis, and more particularly in the functional diversity of ectomycorrhizal communities and its application to the controlled mycorrhization of nurseries and plantation forests. He uses techniques such as ribotyping and enzymatic activity profiling to describe in situ the taxonomical and functional structure of the communities.
